the General Assembly in action

Today the UN General Assembly is holding an afternoon meeting. They will not be discussing the global financial crisis. Instead, they will be discussing whether to postpone next week's meeting on the global financial crisis.

I repeat, the General Assembly is holding a meeting today to discuss postponing a future meeting.

Today's meeting was supposed to take place at 3pm. Needless to say, it was itself postponed until 4. Then 5. As of this writing, it is 5:23pm and the delegates are still ambling in and chatting amongst themselves.

Interestingly, another perennial item on the General Assembly's agenda is called "Revitalization of the General Assembly." How's that going, boys?
